Christine Schadek

- Home Country: Germany -

Born in 1957, Christine left her native Germany in 1984 for a life abroad, for Belgium, France and a number of African countries, following her husband in his professional postings. She started painting in 2007, taking lessons with Giorgio Putzulo in Nice and AncaSonia at the “Ecole des beaux arts” in Grasse, France.

Currently she is completing her studies at the RHoK academy in Brussels, with Oxana Taran as her main teacher.

A key feature of her life has been the constant change in places and countries of residence. Spending her life without a real “place to belong” is factor that strongly impacts on her emotions and her art. Painting has become a way of finding stability, calm and meditation in a live of frequent and radical changes.

Her painting, in oil on canvas, has been evolving constantly from figurative to a more and more expressive style. She applies the paint in thick layers in a bold and unconventional way, carving the numerous layers of paint with various tools to come to the final result she is looking for. One of her works at the RokH academy has been selected for its annual exhibition.
